THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A Sunday School teacher was sharing the story of Jonah and the whale with her class. After she had told them how the whale swallowed Jonah, and then upon repentance the whale spit Jonah out on the shore, then she asked, "What do we learn from this story?"

There was SILENCE.

Finally one little boy raised a timid hand. The teacher called on him, and he said, "We learn that people make whales throw up!"

Titus 1:1-4
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Are you a "servant of God" through surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord? Are you living "according to the faith of God's elect?" Remember, God has elected to forgive and save "Whosoever" calls in repentance upon the Lord, Jesus Christ. (See John 3:16 &Romans 10:13)

Though all can be part of this elect, only those who call upon Christ in genuine repentance will be. And those who do, are given the "hope of eternal life!" (vs 2) God's "hope of eternal life" is constant assurance provided by His Holy Spirit indwelling the saved person. (See John 14:16, John 15:26)

God cannot lie! And He promised HIMSELF before He created the world that He would receive ALL who come to Him through repentant surrender to Jesus as Lord. (See John 1:1-3, John 1:12)

If you are part of this elect, then you have a message to carry to the world around you. God's Word is "manifested ... through preaching" (vs 3 above). You may not be an apostle, like Paul, but you are a messenger! This "preaching" is a "commandment of God our Saviour!" It is not a request, it is a command. And this command is given to ALL who are part of the elect. (See Matthew 28:18-20)

This wonderful message that the elect shares with others imparts three wonderful things from God: "grace, mercy and peace!" (vs 4 above)
1. Grace is the unmerited, unearned favor of God.
2. Mercy is the merciful kindness of God.
3. And Peace is quietness and rest with God.

When you share the Gospel of Christ with others you are an ambassador of Christ you impart to others God's grace, mercy and peace.

Share Jesus with someone today!

Love ya,
Bruce
