THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

We live in the amazing jet age. You can have breakfast in New York, lunch in Los Angeles, and dinner in Hong Kong.

But your luggage will probably be in Atlanta!

Heb 10:36
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

We do live in the "jet age."
Everyone expects things FAST!
We are an IMpatient society.
We have NEED of patience.

For the Christian, our most important hope is God's "promise" of eternal life in glory with Him. That is our goal and reward, which cannot be attained, but must be received.

Sometimes, when Christians get older, they get IMpatient waiting for "the promise." However, we must FIRST complete God's will for us in this earth before we receive the promise. We must "run with patience the race that is set before us" (Heb. 12:1).

And AFTER we have done God's will, we must be patient to wait for Him to complete the promise. He who is waiting can still be serving.

When we are older, sometimes we become unable to physically serve God as teachers, preachers, etc. But while we are waiting for "the promise," we can still serve God in other ways. We must CONTINUE to run the race with patience.

Older Christians are still very valuable in Kingdom work!
They can PRAY!
They can ATTEND!
They can make phone calls.
They can write cards.

Servitude is gratitude. It is also the attitude that reflects patience in waiting for God's timing.

Remember, God is never early; God is never late; but He is ALWAYS on time!

The "promise" will be fulfilled AFTER we have run the race with patience doing the will of God.

Love ya,
Bruce
