THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Joe was traveling by horseback in 1840, going to find a new home in the West.

As he was riding the trail, he saw a broken bag full of seed. Obviously, it had fallen out of a wagon.

Joe heard a small voice that said, "Pick up the seed and take it with you." He felt it would be uncomfortable trying to load that broken bag on the horse. So he only picked up a handful and put them in his saddle bag.

The voice spoke again and said, "When you plant the seed, you'll be both glad and sad."

Many weeks later, in his new place in the West, Joe watched that seed come up.
They were APPLE TREES!

He was glad he had them.
But he was sad he didn't pick up more!

As we go along the "trail of life," let's be sure and plant the "seed" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It produces MORE fruit!

Ephesians 3:8
"Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ."

THOUGHT___________________________________________________________

It is by "grace" I was convicted of sin.
It is by "grace" I was convinced of Jesus as my Creator and Lord.
It is by "grace" I was called to commitment to Christ so I could be saved.
Salvation is of God! And all I had to do with it was surrender to Christ in humility!
Humbled by my sinfulness, pleading forgiveness, I came; and was received in "grace!"

Grace being: God's Riches At Christ's Expense!

And it is by "grace" I'm given the privilege and joy of preaching "the unsearchable riches of Christ!" For ALL of God's "riches" are "in Christ!"

Let me remember that Christ is unfathomable and unsearchable.
Let me remember that His "grace" pours out constantly for my benefit.
Let me remember this "gospel" of Jesus is the hub of all my conversation.

Even though I am "least of all saints," I have this wonderful blessing:
To preach the saving "grace" of God in Christ Jesus!

I may be overwhelmed by the many who won't receive this precious "Gospel."
But I will not be perplexed.
For I am sure of the Subject!

CHRIST is the subject.
For He alone is both "Seed to the sower, and Bread to the eater" (Isa 55:10)!

Love ya,
Bruce
