THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><>

A surgeon, an engineer, and a politician were debating which of their professions was the oldest. The surgeon said, "Eve was made from Adam's rib. And that, of course, was surgical procedure. Obviously, surgery is the oldest profession."

The engineer countered, "Yes, but before that, order was made of chaos. And that most certainly was an engineering job."

The politician smiled and said triumphantly, "AHA! And just who do you think created all that chaos?"

Ps 28:3
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
KJV

"Platforms" are those things upon which speakers stand. If the "planks" on the platform are not sturdy and knit together in a cohesive pattern, then the speaker will be on an unsteady footing.

Beware of speakers who stand on platforms built with shoddy planks! The speaker might fall on ya and hurt ya!

In a politician's world, the "planks" are the principals upon which he promotes himself.

When a person speaks with glowing oratory about what he/she will do FOR the public, check to see that his "planks" are good! For instance, if he stands on the principal of pro-abortion, then all the glowing oratory he can deliver is just WIND! Also, if that person stands on the principal of same-sex marriage, then any fine-sounding speech is just MORE WIND!

Shall I go on? Nah! 'Nuff said!!

Pray that God will deliver us from those who "speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts!"

Love ya,
Bruce
