THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Semantics are difficult when you change regions. People don't use the same words to represent the same things.
In Louisiana, where I live, a grocery bag is called a sack.
In North Carolina, where I was born, a grocery bag is called a poke.
A young man was explaining how he'd played football on the high school team. He said he earned "letters" 4 years in a row.
One of the listeners asked, "What position did you play?"
The young man answered, "Bent over, like this......"

Gen 4:25-26
25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
KJV
Genesis 5
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
KJV

Position with God is relative. If we have no relationship with God, we have no position. If we have a relationship with God, we can always BETTER our position.
Cain killed Abel, but God gave Adam and Eve another son - Seth. Adam lived another 800 years and had MORE sons and daughters!
Seth also had a son - Enos. Seth lived another 807 years and had MORE sons and daughters.
Adam had a relationship with God. He had been called and sought out, confessed, and had been forgiven. He had received consequences for his sin, but had determined to follow God's will.
Seth had a relationship with God. If he had not, God would not have chosen to use his decendency to bless the earth. Obviously Seth chose to follow God's will also. THAT'S how we have a relationship with God -- choose to follow His will in our lives.
Enos had a relationship with God. The indication from Gen. 4:26 is that Enos encouraged men to pray. The connection of prayer with his name, here in the genetical descendency, leads one to believe Enos was the originator of prayerful meditation and spiritual worship.
What's YOUR position with God? If you have a relationship with Him, your position is disciple or willing learner. You can enhance your position with God through prayerful meditation upon God's Word, and spiritual worship.
When Cain killed Abel, the hope for the first people was dashed by insensitivity.
But Enos brought sensitivity. He brought a better hope into the world.
You can too!
Love ya,
