THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A tail gunner was being court-martialed.

The attorney for the prosecution asked, "What did you hear in your headset?"

Defendent, "I heard my Sargent holler 'Enemy at 5:00 o'clock!'"

Prosecutor, "And what did you do?"

Defendent, "I sat back and waited. It was only 4:30!"

Ezekiel 2:8-10
8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.
9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

THOUGHT____________________________________

I remember when our children were very little and we "spoon-fed" them.
Oh! It was a messy process sometimes!
But a necessary one.

Sometimes, they would exhibit that rebellious streak (that must have been inherited from some great grandparent), and close that little mouth and turn away.

I also remember when they first exhibited the signs of wanting to feed themselves.
So we'd put them in the high chair, put the plate of food in front of them, and watch.
They'd get it all over them, the chair, the floor, the wall.
But they would get some in them because they were willing to feed themselves.

Yes, there are times in our lives when we don't LIKE what God wants to tell us through His Word.
There are also times, when we want to feed ourselves, and we allow the Word of God to become messy in our lives, because
we don't understand all that's there, and we must work to comprehend.

But the written Word of God is for our consumption.
It is FOOD for the saved!

After we take the Word of God into ourselves, we become stronger from it, and have knowledge to speak about it.

One of the greatest detriments to the propagation of the Gospel today is the lack of eating at God's table by the saved!
I'm afraid many so-called "soldiers in God's army" could be court-martialed!

Don't sit back and wait.
Take in the Word of God daily.
Tell the Word of God to others.

Love ya!
