THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A little boy was kneeling by his bed, saying his evening prayers. When he finished, his closing sentence was:

"There ya have it Lord, glad we could get together."

Ex 33:14-15
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

When Moses was called to lead the Israelites into "The Promised Land," his request was for God's presence. By requesting God's presence, Moses is seeking God's closeness, comfort, enabling, and power. Shall we attempt to do anything without God's presence?

Frequently, Christians pray for God's presence when they are facing difficulty. But there is no time when we should be without His presence.

In trouble, God's presence brings comfort.
In terror, God's presence brings safety.
In temptation, God's presence brings strength for resistance.
In sorrow, God's presence brings consolation.
In accomplishment, God's presence keeps us from being proud.
In joy, God's presence restrains us from selfishness.

Notice Moses said, "If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence."

We should attempt to do nothing without first consulting God and begging His presence of closeness, comfort, enabling and power. For our Lord made it quite clear when He said, "WITHOUT me, ye can do NOTHING." (John 15:5)

We need God's presence in our thinking, conversation, personal relationships, education, employment, and especially in leading others to know Christ.

Today, be sure you ask for God's PRESENCE!

Love ya,
Bruce
