16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

After Jesus had ascended into heaven, the gift of God's Holy Spirit came upon the believers in a magnificent way. Believers were telling of Jesus in every language.
Some of the hearers mocked saying that these "believers" were just drunk. But Peter reminded them of the prophecy in Joel: "...and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:".
Yes, it is mentioned that some will have "dreams."
Yes, it is mentioned that some will see "visions."
But notice it is mentioned TWICE that ALL will PROPHESY!
When people surrender to Jesus as Lord, the first gift they receive is His Holy Spirit. He is a causative agent. He brings action into the life of the believer.
And the FIRST action caused by God's Holy Spirit is to prophesy! Prophecy is speaking under divine direction. It is telling truth as God has told it.
THE greatest truth God has told is of the salvation of men. Jesus has come to pay the debt we could not pay; to make atonement for man's sins; and, to offer eternal forgiveness and salvation to all mankind.
It is most important that the world hear this great news from EVERY believers lips! Because God's plan is "..whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved."
As Paul says in Romans 10:14 "...how shall they hear without a preacher?"
By the causative action of God's Holy Spirit EVERY believer is a preacher.
Prophesy the GOOD NEWS today!
