Once two shoe salesmen were sent to Africa to open new sales territories. Three days after they arrived, the first salesman faxed a message: "I will be returning on the next plane. I can't sell shoes here. Everyone goes barefoot all the time."

There was no report from the second salesman for about two weeks. Then came a fax from him with this message: "Fifty orders coming in fed-ex package. Prospects unlimited. Nobody here has shoes!"

34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38>o? I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

Of the world population, fewer than 25% are Christian. That means 75% at least are prospects for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The USA is a little more saturated with at least 60% of the citizens professing Christianity. However, on any given Sunday, fewer than 30% are in church. To me, that means 70% are prospects for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "LOOK -- the fields are READY for harvesting!" And world statistics prove He was and is right!

There are three basic laws of the harvest:

  1. If there is no planting, there can be no reaping;
  2. Whatever is planted, the same is reaped (Galatians 6:7);
    (If one plants corn, he will not reap wheat.)
  3. One always reaps MORE than he sows.

Think about those laws in relation to harvesting lost souls.

Jesus said there was "no labor" (see verse 38 above) to sharing the gospel. That's because His Holy Spirit is already at work in calling the lost. His Word is used as a tool by His Holy Spirit to bring convincing and conviction. And someone else has probably already planted a "seed."

The fields truly are "white" and ready for harvest. In our mobile society we touch the lives of many people. MOST are not saved! The prospects are unlimited!

Share the gospel. Watch as our Lord allows you to plant a seed, cultivate a seed, or even share in reaping lost souls.
