THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

He pulled into the parking lot of the mall and rolled all the car windows down a little to make sure his Labrador Retriever had fresh air. She was stretched out in the back seat, and he wanted to impress on her to stay there. So he backed away from the car, pointing his finger and saying, "STAY! STAY!"
The driver of a nearby car looked at him strangely and said, "Why don't you just put it in park?"

1 Tim 2:1-2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
KJV
Prov 29:2
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
KJV

Perhaps it would be good to have the ability to put animals and some people in "park" for awhile.
As Christians we have an obligation to pray for our leaders. God teaches us that we are to pray for them diligently if we want to "lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
As Christians we also have an obligation to the citizenry of our local community, State, and nation. When leaders utilize their authority to do wrong, it causes GRIEF for the people.
Monday, December 6, 2004, Governor Kathleen Blanco issued an "Executive Order" which adds prohibitions against harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, and political affiliation or disabilities. The order will apply to all state agencies and employees as well as state contractors.
The "Executive Order" allows the executive branch of our State to preempt the Legislature - hopefully, for only a short time. This "Order" produces far-reaching and uncertain consequences concerning employment, dress and behavior. Our Legislature has consistently refused to allow such issues as included in the "Order" to be placed into law in our State.
Let us PRAY! Pray that our Legislature will implement legislation that will immediately reverse this "Order."
Let us ACT! Contact your State Representative and ask them to begin legislation to reverse this "Order." Also contact the Governor's Office, and ask that this "Order" be rescinded.
When "political correctness" opposes moral rightness, Christians need to both PRAY and ACT!
Love ya,
Bruce
