THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

After a hard day at work, a father was very patiently listening to his seven-year-old son scratch away on his violin. The dog, just outside the door, was howling dismally to the music.

Dad was trying to be loving and kind, but the screeching of the violin and the howling of the dog were beginning to be a little too much for his already jangled nerves.

Trying to be kind, he said, "Son, do you suppose you could play something the dog doesn't know?"

Isa 2:3
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

We cannot play the world's song and live for our Father.

Each day we need to climb above the world to the "mountain of the LORD." We need the blessing of being with God in prayer and Bible study -- to talk to Him and to hear from Him.

The difficulties of this world soon choke our closeness with our Lord, and we begin to feel the pain of "jangled nerves." Let us determine in our hearts to daily climb UP.

Let us go to the purity and beauty of the place where we meet with God, our Creator and Savior. Let us daily seek His presence and find the peace that infuses inspiration. Do you have a place set aside in your home to daily pray and read your Bible?

We simply cannot bear the "screeching and howling" of the world without having a daily "quiet time" with our Lord.

Let us ask Him to "teach us of His ways," and help us to live more nobly and boldly for Him.

The result of this daily "quiet time" with God will be that we shall determine in our hearts to "walk in His paths." Having been daily soothed by His Presence and teaching, we'll not desire to "dance to the devil's music." Instead we shall desire to "compel" others to come to Christ and know His peace.

Determine in your heart today to have a "quiet time" with God EVERY day.

One cannot live FOR God by living WITHOUT God.

Love ya, Bruce
