THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The manager was called into the theatre. There was a man lying in the aisle.
He said, "Sir, you'll have to get up, you're blocking traffic."

The man didn't move.

The manager said, "Sir, if you don't move, I'll have to call the police."

The man didn't move.

A policeman soon arrived. "Sir, you'll have to get up, or I'll take you in. Where did you come from anyway?"

Very weakly, the man whispered, "The balcony."

SCRIPTURE_____________________________________________________

Eph 3:13-19
13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Paul says in verse14, He prays “for THIS cause…”
What cause? See vs. 13, “tribulations.”

Paul was concerned about the people in the church. He did not want them to "faint" because of the tribulations.

Then, Paul records his prayer. The prayer includes 7 important requests.
1) That God would “grant you” -- allow by His grace: that God's grace would literally "pour out" this privilege.
2) To be “strengthened” (vs. 16) by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit!
3) That “Christ may DWELL” (vs. 17a) in their hearts by FAITH!
4) That they would be “rooted & grounded in love” (vs. 17b)-- in Christ -- He is LOVE!
5) That they would “comprehend” (vs. 18) the CIRCUMFERENCE of God’s love …which is expressed in Christ (Rom. 5:8)
6) That they would know Christ’s love “passeth knowledge” (vs. 19)
7) And, that “ye may be FILLED with the FULNESS of God!”

This should be our prayer daily for all of our Christian friends.
Can you comprehend being FILLED with God?

Now, if you wanna talk about CHANGE!!!
That would be a change which would ROCK the world...AND, our government!

What a wonderful world this would be, if ONLY all Christians would take this seriously!
We would sacrifice ourselves for the salvation of others!
We would give of ourselves for the betterment of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We would find a MINISTRY in which to become involved!

Pray the prayer sincerely for yourself!
Then, pray the prayer sincerely for other Christians.

Love ya,
Bruce
