THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><>

As we get older, we have to figure out ways to stay trim and fit.

I heard a man say the other day, he was doing something different to keep himself from eating too much.

He said he put the TV on the opposite end of the house from the refrigerator.

Prov 14:29-30
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
KJV

Have ya cleaned out your refrigerator lately? Man! Those little plastic containers can hold some SURPRISES!

When ya start cleaning them out, it makes ya wish you'd cleaned your plate the first time! I found a few the other day that were really bad. Some chicken that looked like it was growing new feathers. A little container filled with green slime that used to be salad. Some spaghetti in one container looked like it had grown some new meatballs.

But if ya wanna make room for "new" stuff, ya gotta clean out the old!

Our spiritual lives are sometimes filled with those old "refrigerated items." We need to clean out "hasty" spirits, and things like "envy." Jealousy, anger, bitterness, pride, and unforgiveness are just as disgusting as some of those things in the containers we find in our "frig."

God wants to fill us up with His joy and blessings. Our Lord wants to give us "new stuff" that doesn't need preservatives. But first, we must give Him some ROOM.

Have you been missing out on storing up joy, hope, happiness, peace, kindness, etc.?

We all need to clean out our hearts. Take those ole disgusting things to God in prayer and ask Him to change them.

Love ya,
Bruce
