THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The university professor and his wife were leaving church.
Professor: "Ha, ha! Who's absent-minded now? You forgot your umbrella and left it in church, but I remembered mine and I picked up yours, too."
Wife: "Fine -- but the trouble is, neither you nor I brought an umbrella to church today!"

1 Kings 22:48-49
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.
49 Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

_______THOUGHT_____________________________________________________
The reason Jehoshaphat suffered the loss of his ships was because he had joined himself in merger with a sinful partner. A prophet was sent to him saying, "Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish." (2 Chron 20:37)
Many Christians suffer losses because of the same reason!
The prophet sent to Jehoshaphat brought a directive from the Lord. Christians should not be in partnership with unbelievers. God calls that being "unequally yoked together." (2Corinthians 6:14)
Many a Christian has suffered loss, physically and monetarily, because of being "unequally yoked together with unbelievers" in business partnerships.
Many a Christian has suffered loss, emotionally, because of being "unequally yoked together with unbelievers" in marriage.
We see in verse 49 of our text (above) Jehoshaphat accepted the directive from God, and applied it to his life. He would not allow his servants to go again with Ahaziah's servants!
Let us also take the directive from God!
Let us not be joined together with unbelievers in business partnerships or marriages.
And let us teach this lesson to those who come behind us.
Love ya,
Bruce
