THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A young ensign in the Navy was given an opportunity to show his skill at getting the ship underway.
He barked orders crisply. The crew responded quickly. Soon the ship was underway, faster than had ever happened before.
Then, a radio message came for the ensign.
"Congratulations upon getting the ship underway in record time!
Next time, remember to be sure the Captain is on board before departing!"

God never forgets His promises!
So, why is the psalmist asking God to "Remember.."?
Perhaps it is because WE are the ones who need to remember!
And the very mention of God's Word to us gives us "hope"!
The Word of God brings "comfort in my affliction"!
It is by His Word that we are "quickened"!
Reading, studying His Word makes us feel alive to His closeness and strength.
Oh, my soul, remember God's Word; and call upon Him according to that Word!
When you are reminded of your sinfulness, remember He is faithful to forgive upon your confession (1John 1:9).
When you are lonely, remember His promise to "never leave thee nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).
When you feel week and tired, remember His promise "He giveth power to the faint; and ... He increaseth strength" (Isaiah 40:29).
When you are in need of His closeness, remember "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you..." (James 4:8).
Yes, it is WE who need to remember God's Word!
And, we should call upon God according to His Word!
That brings us hope, comforts our souls, and enlivens us!
Love ya,
Bruce
