THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Ben was a poor boy from Louisiana. He'd never been to big places like Dallas before. When his company sent him there for a conference, he was amazed.
When the bellhop opened the door to his room at the hotel, Ben exclaimed, "Man! This room is bigger than my whole house!" To which the bellhop replied, "EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas."
When Ben went to eat, they brought him a steak that filled the whole plate. He said, "WOW! We don't have a cow in Louisiana with a leg this big!" The waiter said, "EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas."
When Ben went to the conference the next day, he needed to use the bathroom before the meeting. The bellhop told him to go down the hall, turn left, then take the first room on the right.
Ben went down the hall, turned left, and mistakenly went into the first room on the left. He was looking at how BIG the room was, when he fell into the swimming pool. Ben yelled, "Don't flush! Don't flush!"

Psalm 30:8-12
8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.
9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

When David's life was again turned to turmoil with war, he called upon God for deliverance. And God ANSWERED!
We shall praise God forever in glory. But what about here on earth? David said God could get no "profit" from him upon this earth if he were dead. Again, the difficulties of life had taken David from the "mountain" to the "valley." But God delivered him!
God turned David's mourning and sorrow into dancing and praise. When we are saved, and know that God is with us, the emotional difficulties of life can be changed into joy and singing through that knowledge.
Therefore, David makes the commitment to PRAISE God continually. And so should we, as Christians, make that same commitment.
Friends, the only profit we can give God on this earth is praise! Sometimes, in our prosperity, we begin to think every day on this earth will be as it is today. And we forget to PRAISE GOD!
And, sometimes the "valleys" of life are God's way to bring us back to giving Him PRAISE!
When your life is going through "valleys," be sure to give God profit by praising Him!
Love ya,
Bruce
