THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Tom had lived in the city all his life. Now that he was retiring, he wanted a slower life. And he wanted to learn how to live like they did in "the old days."

He and his wife Mary, bought a little place out in the country and moved there.

Tom found an old plow on his new place, and wanted to get a mule so he could learn to plow. He went to his neighbor and asked where he could find a mule. The neighbor could tell that Tom knew absolutely nothing about farming. So, in fun he told Tom about a friend who lived about 10 miles away.

The neighbor called his friend. The friend said, "You know I don't have a mule." The neighbor said, "Yeh. But go paint a watermelon brown and tell him it's a mule EGG!" The man did, and Tom bought the mule EGG!

When he got home, he was unloading the mule EGG, and dropped it!
It landed right by the fence, and burst open.
There was a long-eared rabbit right by the fence.
The watermelon bursting scared him and he began running.

Mary said, "Catch him Tom!"
Tom ran and ran, but couldn't catch him.
Mary said, "It's no use, he got away!"
Tom said, "Well, that's ok. 'Cause I don't think I could have plowed that FAST anyway!"

SCRIPTURE__________________________________________________________

Psalm 100:1-5
1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

THOUGHT___________________________________________________________

In a world full of inequity and iniquity, aren't you GLAD to know that there IS a God Who establishes righteousness?

God sets the standard for all man. He Himself is the measuring rod.

And one day God is going to call all His redeemed to live with Him eternally in a place where there is NO inequity and NO iniquity!

He is the ONLY God (verse 3). We are the results of HIS CREATION!
We are here because of the loving creative work of Almighty God!
Even though He knew we would be sinners;
Even though He knew He would have to come and die on a cross for our sins;
He created us in His loving mercy!!

God is GOOD!
His mercy is EVERLASTING!
He will forgive us, save us and grant us ETERNAL life!

DAILY, we should come before God with praises and singing and worship!

ALSO, let us come to His house on earth (church - verse 4), and worship and praise Him!

Love ya,
Bruce
