THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord's Prayer. For several evenings, at bedtime, she would repeat after me the lines from the prayer.

Finally, she decided to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer:

"Lead us not into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us from e-mail. Amen."

THOUGHT______________________________________________________________________

All Christians have received unmerited, unsolicited grace. When we were lost in sin, God came to convict us of sin and convince us to call upon the Lord Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. That was unmerited, usolicited grace.

But God's grace CONTINUES. In the Scripture above, God promises to HEAR Israel's call. He promised that WHILE they were in captivity for sin!

Here we find that God WANTS His children to pray.
Here we find that God promises to answer.
Prayer is born of the Christian knowing that God hears and answers.
Prayer is the Christian child seeking God for blessings of grace.

Seldom has renewal taken place in the life of a Christian without him/her having sought God earnestly in prayer. Seldom has revival come to a church, or a nation without earnest prayer seeking the grace of God. These are events that happen as a result of SEEKING God's grace.

Yes, we have all been beneficiaries of God's unmerited, unsolicited grace. And, yes, Christians still receive. that grace and blessings pour out from God even though we do not ask.

But are we SEEKING God's grace through earnest prayer?

Love ya,
Bruce
