A 5-year-old boy staying with his grandmother wanted to show his love for her. He decided to bring her morning coffee. Although it was lukewarm and had coffee grounds floating on top, she sipped it appreciating his gesture. Then she noticed 3 small green army men in the bottom of the cup.
When she asked why they were there, the boy replied,"But grandma, don't you know the best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup?"

Supplying our minds with the right things is important!
It's amazing what we put in our minds everyday. Watching television and movies, and reading magazines, we supply our minds with filth from every corner. Once I read a movie review that had this line: "..the plot moves rapidly down the sewer." Many commercials express the theme that nothing can be sold without sex. And other commercials express the theme that one cannot have fun without alcoholic beverages. Violence and sexual promiscuity are the very basis for most television shows and movies today. The world intends to pollute our minds with "grounds" and "soldiers" in our cups!
It is dangerous to supply our minds with so much filth, because the mind has no garbage disposal. There's no "delete" button to erase those things stored in our mind's computer.
The best way to protect our mind is to supply it with those things which are morally right and true. And that is one reason we should spend time in study of God's Word daily!
Federal investigators teach that the best way to spot a counterfeit bill is to LEARN AND KNOW the real ones!
"Study" implies that we should apply ourselves diligently to learning God's Word.
"To show thyself" means that our education in God's Word will yield expression.
"Approved unto God" means that we apply ourselves to His purposes.
After these things are done, then we should be able to "rightly divide" (or use) the Bible to show others the reason for, and plan of, salvation.
Let me challenge you today. Spend more time learning the TRUTH so that you can spot the fakery of the world.
