THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The deacon came to visit with the pastor, and found the pastor pacing in the den.
He was walking back and forth, back and forth, muttering to himself.

The deacon asked, "Bro. Pastor, what seems to be the trouble?"

The pastor answered, "The problem my dear man is this:
I'm in a hurry and God is NOT!"

Do ya ever feel "stressed out?"

Sometimes we allow the difficulties and problems of life to "box us in!"
We want to DO something, but can't figure out exactly WHAT to do.

We want to retreat, and take a vacation.
We want to run away, leaving it all behind.
Or, we might want to charge in, taking care of the problems ourselves.

But at times like that, God says, "...stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD...!" (Exodus 14:13)

Our Lord reminds us that He is our strength; and, He will keep us.
He says, "Be still, and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10).

Calmness and peace comes when we acknowledge our frailty and turn to God in prayer.

It's a matter of FOCUS.

Isa 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Next time you feel "stressed out," PAUSE and PRAY!
Acknowledge that though your problems are too big for you, God is bigger than your problems.

Love ya,
Bruce
