What a GREAT GOD we have!
When we acknowledge our sin nature, and beg God's forgiveness, yielding our lives to the Lordship of Jesus, then HE will KEEP us in His salvation (verse 1). In fact, He makes us like "mount Zion" - UNmovable!
God "surrounds" His children with love, mercy and help (verse 2)!
We cannot help but remember what God said about Job. He asked Satan if he had considered Job, who was a "servant" that was "perfect and upright." (Job 1:8) And Satan's answer depicted God's protection of His people, "Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath...?" (Job 1:10)
Now that doesn't mean that we are sinless, but it certainly means we will sin less! Pastor Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Life" says, "The problem with being a living sacrifice is that we too often want to crawl off the altar." We are sinners.
However, Christians are viewed by God as "washed in the blood" of Jesus, and "sealed" in the Spirit of Almighty God! FORGIVEN! ADOPTED! And, yes, PROTECTED by the constant showering of His love and mercy.
If you are saved, you know it.
If you are saved, you will show it.
Because, if you are saved, you can't help it!
