THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
At breakfast one morning, Dad asked his 7-year-old son to give thanks.
The young boy gave thanks for EVERYTHING:
sunshine, grass, trees, house, parents, toys, tv, even his little sister.
Then, he looked up at Dad and asked, “Did I forget anything?”
Dad said, “Yes, the breakfast.”
So the son bowed his head and started all over again!

In giving thanks, don’t forget the SOURCE of all blessings, JESUS!
If it weren’t for God’s grace in Christ, we wouldn’t have life itself!
It is God’s grace through Christ that created us (John 1:1-3, Heb. 1:1-3).
Therefore, ALL that we have, as a result of life, is because of God’s grace through Christ.
It is HE who came from above as the “perfect gift” for us.
Jesus exhibited God’s love for us (Rom. 5:8 ).
In that love, He paid our sin debt on the cross (Rom. 5:10-11).
He also set aside God’s anger for our sins (1John 2:2).
It is He Who completes the work of salvation in us (Philippians 1:6).
And, it is He Who will come to receive us at the appropriate time, ushering us to Heaven (John 14:1-6).
Let us not become so enthralled with the physical things for which we are thankful
that we forget to thank God for His “Perfect Gift” – Jesus Christ!
It is through HIM that ALL blessings flow!
Jesus is the BEGINNING of Thanksgiving!
