THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

During Oliver Cromwell's reign, the British Govt. became short on silver to make coins. He told his people to look for silver.

They reported the only silver to be found was in the statues of the saints in corners of churches.

Cromwell replied, "Good! Let's melt down the saints and put them into circulation!"

In science, a living thing is described as having four characteristics. Living things: are made up of individual cells;
need food;
grow;
and reproduce.

The church is a living thing because it is:
made up of individual cells;
needs food;
grows;
and reproduces.

Once, a small group of individual cells determined to follow the Master's plan.
They waited for His Holy Spirit to enable them.
Then, they were transformed, energized and propelled by the Master's power.

This group of individual cells determined to work together.
They "fed" on God's Word and the joy of being together to praise and worship Him.
They "grew" by educating each other and ministering to one another.
They "reproduced" because they were each individually evangelizing in their families, work places, and places they went.

In a few short years, Billy Graham once said, "They turned the world upside down because they were right side up!"

The world has never been the same since that first church of individual cells.
And we need to pray, "GOD, DO IT AGAIN! And BEGIN in ME!"

Love ya,
Bruce
