THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A child came home from kindergarten anxious to sing a new song for his mother. The song was "God Bless America." That was refreshing in itself, that he would be taught such a song in school today.
He sang,
"God bless America, land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her,
Through the night with the light from a bulb."

Light is symbolic of knowledge. Today, even with intense prayer and Bible study, we only see as "through a glass, darkly" (1Cor. 13:12). But, in heaven, we will know God fully and our knowledge will be complete. We will have great joy at the total understanding of His holy love.
Light means reflection. We were black with sin, but God's light has begun a wonderful transformation within us. We were stained, but our stains are now washed away in His forgiveness. And we begin to reflect the love of God to others.
Light brings beauty. Without light, no beauty can be observed. Jesus is the "light" of all Christians. A bulb without a filament can radiate no light. People can radiate no real beauty without Christ.
Light is an emblem of hope. If you've ever been in a totally dark room, you know what hope and joy one little candle can bring. Because Christ came into the world, died for our sin, was resurrected for our justification, and calls us to eternal joy - we have hope!
But most of all, light means life. In the eternal darkness of hell, there'll be no life, only eternal death. But through Christ we have "life," and His life is "the light of men."
REAL LIFE is knowing Christ as Lord and Savior.
Today, let us take knowledge of Christ our Lord. And let us be a reflection of His beauty and hope in this world.
In so doing, we may help others LINK TO REAL LIFE with Jesus!
Love ya,
Bruce
