THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Do you know the real reason the government jails people for theft?
They're trying to get rid of the competition!

1 Tim 2:1-4
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Now we have a new president-elect.
But we still have the same JOB!
To PRAY!
We are to PRAY for our leaders.
We are to make "supplications" (Greek, deesis), meaning request, or plead.
We are to make "prayers" (Greek, proseuche), meaning pray earnestly.
We are to make "intercessions" (Greek, enteuxis), meaning pray on behalf of someone else.
We are to make "giving of thanks" (Greek, eucharistia), meaning worship and praise to God.
It is our privilege and honor to do this, as Christians.
There are also results.
First, God will hear our prayers and act in the lives of those for whom we prayed.
Pray that God will sustain moral principles: equality, honesty, decency, rightness.
Our prayers, even for the unsaved, show our desire that God work spiritually in the lives of others for His glory.
Second, God will act in OUR lives causing us to live lives that are undisturbing to others and filled with "godliness" and "honesty." Praying for others opens the door for God to create spiritually sustaining behavior in us.
Third, the REAL REASON! Pray that God will cause The Gospel of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed so that all may have the opportunity to be saved.
Let us never forget our PURPOSE: to bring The Gospel to others so that they may become convicted of sin, convinced of a Savior, and committed to Christ!
Love ya,
Bruce
