THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

In The Reader's Digest sometime ago a lady reported a rather interesting experience.

She telephoned her bank in an attempt to correct an error which the bank had made. Her call was transferred from one person to another, from office to office, and there was much talk, but no help.

At last, the eighth person proved to be calmly and sympathetically helpful. He was genuinely pleasant thoroughly efficient, even friendly.

The business finished, the lady said, "You're great! What is your position in the bank?"

He answered, "I'm the ungoofer."

At the time of our surrender to Jesus as Lord of our lives, God sent His Holy Spirit into our hearts to seal us in His holy redemption. By His power, we become a "temple" for God's Personal indwelling presence.

In His official capacity, God's Holy Spirit continually: comforts, instructs, guides, sanctifies, quickens, and speaks to God on our behalf.

With tender love, He convicts us of our sins.
With compassion, He comforts us in the difficulties we face.
With patience, He teaches us God's Word.
With loving kindness, He reminds us of God's Word during our daily activities.
With holy cleansing, He sanctifies us as we confess our sins.
With resurrection power, He enlivens us to be ambassadors for Christ.
With holy wisdom, He imparts our feelings to God as we pray.

Any work we do, classified as good unto God, is initiated by His Holy Spirit within us.
He acts within us "to will and to do" of God's good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

As He continually attends to our spiritual needs, let us be ever aware of His presence.
And let us determine to follow His holy guidance.

Keep in touch with the "Ungoofer!"

Love ya,
Bruce
