THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A little boy had just been tucked into bed by his mother, who was waiting to hear his prayers. But he had been naughty that day, and now it was bothering him. So he said, "Mama, I wish you'd go now and leave me alone. I want to pray by myself."
Sensing that something was wrong, she asked, "Bobby, is there anything you ought to tell me?" "No, Mommy," he replied. "You would just scold me, but God will forgive me and forget about it."

Ezek 15:2
Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

At times, in the Bible, Israel is considered God's "vine tree." Psalm 80:8 says, "Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it."
In our text today, God asks Ezekiel, (paraphrased) "Is the vine tree any better than any other tree?" You see, the oak tree bears fruit; the hickory tree bears fruit; the beech tree bears fruit. And even the "branches" of those trees are sometimes larger than the "vine tree."
Christian, you and I should be humble before our Mighty God! He has chosen the "vine tree" and planted it. He has cultivated around it. He has caused us to have being and purpose.
But without Him, we are nothing!
Let us consider what we would be without His grace: lost and without salvation. We would be sinners without forgiveness, on the pathway to an eternal hell.
By God's goodness we have been planted in the rich soil of His love.
By God's goodness we have been watered by His Holy Spirit.
By God's goodness we have been fed by His Holy Word.
Let us then live according to the being and purpose He has given us.
Let us rejoice that we are called to be ambassadors of His grace.
And let us bear fruit in the "forest" around us.
Love ya,
Bruce
