THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

I remember when I played football. The coach said I was a triple threat.

He never knew if I would jump offside, run the wrong way, or fumble.

Zeph 3:17
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
KJV

The LORD, the eternal Creator is in the "midst" of His people! And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so our Lord rejoices over His people.

What an amazing revelation!

It is true that most of us Christians cannot take too much delight in ourselves. We are conscious of sinfulness. We are aware of periodic unfaithfulness. We are burdened with heavy trials.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ cannot take too much delight in us. They know of our imperfections. They are aware of our weaknesses.

The world cannot rejoice in us. We are quick to point out truth, yet our actions are inconsistent. We often reprove sin, though the world sees us in our wrongness.

Yes, we are a "triple threat!"

But the LORD, our Creator-Savior, REJOICES in us! He "rests" in His love for us. He remains in the "midst" of us to do good for us, helping us in every difficulty!

By Him, we are called "Hephzibah" (Isaiah 62:4), which means "my delight." We are poor sinful creatures, depraved and weak. But we are saved by grace, sanctified, by His blood, filled with His Spirit, and He REJOICES in us!

If He can "sing" over us, we can certainly "sing" about Him!
Let us never cease to praise our Lord for this wonderful revelation!

"Jesus loves me this I know,
For the Bible tells me so!"

Love ya,
Bruce
