THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A woman in Brooklyn decided to prepare her Will and make her final requests. She told her pastor she had two final requests.

First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered all over Bloomingdales.

"Why Bloomingdales?" asked the pastor.

"Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week."

Mark 9:36-37
36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

THOUGHT__________________________________________________________

The disciples had been arguing about who would be the greatest among them in heaven.
Dont' laugh!
Most Christians think in terms of how marvelous they will be in heaven! They think of singing with glorious voices; praising God with glowing oratory; walking with Jesus in the streets of gold; sitting with Him in the throne.

Those things might soon all come true. But first things first!

In order to get the little child to come to Him, the child had to TRUST Him!
AND, the child had to be willing to DO as Jesus instructed!

We must first be SURRENDER to Jesus and be CONVERTED.
He must become LORD of who we are; Master of our being and our doing!
We must become as a little child, and be obedient to Christ's will!

Without surrender, there is no salvation!
Without the obedience, there is little elevation!

"Trust and Obey," that's what the song says.
Sing it!
Live it!

Love ya,
Bruce
