THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Little 4-year-old Johnny was finally in bed, and Mom decided to treat herself to a facial.
She went into the bathroom and rolled her hair.
Then, she cleansed her face thoroughly.
Then, she added a layer of cream.
Then, she added a layer of brown mixture that would decrease wrinkles.

Just then, little Johnny came into the bathroom.
He stopped abruptly, and looked at her.

Then, he questioned, "Who are you, and what have you done with my mother?!"

Job 19:26-27
26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
KJV

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

Job declared that, even though he would die, he would indeed SEE God.
Job would see God out of his own eyes, even though he would have been dead ("though my reins be consumed within me").

Thus Job declared a resurrection.

John declared that, we don't understand how we shall be changed, but we shall be like HIM!
And, because of God's promise, we shall SEE "Him as He is!"

John, too, declared a resurrection.

The focal point of being in glory will be SEEING Jesus!
Hope will be fulfilled as we gaze upon His face!
Joy will overflow as we see Him eternally!
Contentment will flood us as we behold His beauty!
Peace will run in our souls "like a river" when we stand before His glory!

When we finally stand in that "land that is very far off," we shall focus upon "the King in His beauty!" (Isaiah 33:17)

O glorious thought!
We shall SEE Him!
Let this spur me onward in this earthly pilgrimage!

Love ya,
Bruce
