THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Frank was setting up a sundial in his back yard. A neighbor saw it, and came over. He asked, "What's that thing, Frank?"

Frank answered, "It's a sundial. The sun hits that small triangular spike and it casts a shadow on the face of the sundial. As the sun continues to move across the sky, the shadow moves across the calibrated dial. This enables a person to tell the time of day."

The neighbor shook his head, and started walking back home, mumbling, "Wow! What'll they think of next?!"

Acts 18:9-10
9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Some Christians get very enthralled about the fact that Paul received a "vision" from the Lord. They want to know if they too can have a "vision."

May I point out that what God told Paul was written down in the Bible for our instruction.

Let's become excited about what the Lord SAID!

First, "I am with thee."
God's presence IS with the Christian whether he/she receives "vision(s)" or not!

Second, "I have much people in this city."
In the town of Corinth were many thieves, idolaters, adulterers, etc.
Yet, God was ready to receive them!

Third, "speak, and hold not thy peace."
Paul was instructed to speak to the people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God would convict them of the truth, and convince them to turn to Christ.

Now. May I say those instructions apply to all Christians!!
Remember God is WITH you.
Remember He wants to save those around you, no matter what kind of people they are.
And, remember, YOU are to "speak" to them the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I pray you're not saying, "WOW! What'll they think of next?"

Love ya,
Bruce
