THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A guest minister, short of stature and barely visible behind the lectern, stood up afterthe Hymn of Meditation and declared..."Friends...My text for this morning is 'Be not afraid, for it is I'!" Several of the morning worshippers laughed heartily.
Determined to remedy the situation, the preacher made a platform of hymn books behind thelectern for the evening service. After the evening Hymn of Meditation the preacher stood on his platform...vestments fully visible..."Friends...my text for this evening is...Yet a little while and you see me no longer!"
Just then the platform collapsed and down went the preacher!

Gen 41:53-57
53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.
57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

Just as God had prophesied in the dreams, and just as Joseph had interpreted, the seven years of plenty came and went; and the seven years of famine began.
God is always true to His Word. Let us who are prophets always be true to it also.
This famine was WORLD-WIDE. It didn't just happen in Egypt, but in ALL nations.
Now ALL NATIONS came to Egypt to buy corn. And guess who determined the PAYMENT? Yep, this young man who was despised and rejected by his own people.
This young man who was sold into slavery by his own brothers, will now be the
"heartthrob" of ALL NATIONS! Joseph continued to typify the Christ to come.
(See Isaiah 53:3-4)
God has also promised, in His Word, that there will come a day when there will be a "famine of the Word" of God. Amos 8:11 says, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.."
Friends, it is sad to say, but that day has come also! There are literally billions of people who do not hear "The Word" of God today. That famine takes away the hope of men. It denies people the privilege of knowing that death is not final -- Jesus gives eternal life.
Who's in charge of "the corn?" Who's in charge of the "Word of God?" It is those who believe Christ and know that His Word is always true.
Let us pray that Christians everywhere will take their responsibility as "ambassadors for Christ" seriously!
Read the Word.
Heed the Word.
Preach the Word.
Love ya,
Bruce
