THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Boudreaux was out on the lake after midnight. He was lighting sticks of dynamite, one at a time, and throwing them into the lake. When the fish were stunned and came to the top, he scooped them up with his net.

After awhile, a game warden showed up. He pulled his boat alongside Boudreaux's and said, "Boudreaux, you know it's against the law to fish like that!"

Boudreaux calmly lit another stick of dynamite and threw it in the game warden's boat.

Then he said, "So. You gonna talk or you gonna fish?"

Let's set the record straight: there is only ONE God! He is revealed in the Person of Jesus Christ. All other "gods" are only figments of man's imagination. Men make those "gods" up so they can conform a god to their own whims and desires.

But the REAL God is "jealous" FOR His people, and God is "angry" with those who maliciously mistreat His people. God WILL revenge His people and pour His wrath upon His "enemies." An enemy of God's "people" is an enemy of God Himself!

The Bible, which has never been proven wrong, says:
"God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day." (Ps 7:11)

God KNOWS the truth, the good and the evil! And He knows how to perfectly apply them at the appropriate time. While God allowed the Assyrian nation to chastise His people, it was a "burden" to Him. But all men are held accountable for their actions. It is not God Who causes men to act unjustly. It is SIN in and of themselves. And God will certainly "judge" all men for their actions.

Vengeance (revenge) belongs to God! (see Deut. 32:35, 32:41, 32:43, Ps. 99:8, Rom. 12:19)
Our problem, as humans, is that we often try to take that into our OWN hands!

Even when God brings retribution upon sinners, it is a "burden" to Him.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

The REAL God is more consumed by LOVE than HATE!
He knows that on Judgment Day, He'll take care of all His enemies!
He doesn't need someone else to do it for Him!

So. You gonna talk, or you gonna fish?

Love ya,
Bruce
