THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Salt is in abundance today, and we assume (wrongly) that it probably always was.

Actually, up to the 1900's salt was very expensive. Traders in ancient times traded slaves for salt!

It is from this historical viewpoint that the saying was originally made: "He's not worth his salt!"

Keep in mind, Jesus said of believers, "Ye are the salt of the earth!"

Are ya "worth your salt?"

SCRIPTURE____________________________________________________________________

Rom 3:24-26
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

What a tremendously comforting thought!

Believers are "justified" before God! We are given allowance to come before God at any time with even our most menial requests. And He sees us as "without spot or blemish" because we are IN Christ Jesus!

By God's GRACE that is IN Jesus Christ, believers in Him have received "redemption"! We have been purchased out of the market place of slavery to sin, and adopted into the family of God through Jesus' blood.

Believers have received "propitiation"! We have been made to find favor in God's sight!

ALL of this has come to believers "freely" by God's grace and "forebearance," or longsuffering patience. And ALL of it came because Jesus was willing to pay the cost for our redemption on the cross of Calvary!

God is "just" and He is the "Justifier" of all who surrender to Jesus as Lord. Thus, our "sins which are past" are remitted through Christ! And when we stand before the judgment seat at the final day, Christ will declare us "justified" in HIM!

Let us then "declare His righteousness!" For we own no righteousness in ourselves, but He has given us His! Let us who believe wholly count His Name as Holy! And let us reflect our honor, respect and admiration for His Name among unbelievers.

OH! The comfort that is in surrender to Jesus as Lord!
TELL someone about it today!

Love ya,
Bruce
