THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The business was growing rapidly.
But the owner was having a little difficulty with cash flow.
He called a consultant to analyze the situation,
and perhaps offer some suggestions.

The young consultant came and spent two days looking
over the situation.
Then he rushed into the owner's office on the third day excitedly.
Perhaps thinking he had found a problem.
He asked, "How many employees do you have that are
approaching retirement age?"

The owner thought for a second or two, and replied,
"ALL of them. Not one is going the other way."

Zech 14:6-7
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not
be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD,
not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening
time it shall be light.

Light from the Word.

For the believer, the Word of God gives HOPE for old age!
Quite matter-of-factly, God decrees that we must die due to our sins.
This is a decree from God is inescapable.
And none shall escape that "night" of death except those who are
alive at the rapture.

But God offers a great alternative, "..he that liveth and believeth in
Me shall NEVER die!..."
(John 11:26).

Old age should be a better time in our lives.
Our Lord tells us in the text from Zechariah that there will come a day
when "at evening time it shall be light."
Fewer storms ruffle our sails.
Fewer arguments are worth having.
More reclining in shady spots.
More relying on the hope of faith.

At the EVENING of our lives we SEE better!
The light may not be totally "clear," but neither is it totally "dark."
The sun, rising or setting, seems more beautiful.
The skies hold a splendor and a magnetic attraction.
Children playing are more wonderful to watch.
The knowledge of a golden city excites them even beyond the
excitement of youth.
Saints anxiously await the moment when they shall see the
Author and Finisher of their faith.

Let Christ put on you His robe of righteousness!

Old age is this "evening" when it is "light!"
Some people only arrive at this point in the last few hours of their lives.
Others are blessed to abide in that time for many years.

YOU can ABIDE in the "evening" when it is "light!"

For it is "known to the LORD."
But it is revealed unto those who surrender to Christ as LORD!

Love ya!
