DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"ADOPTED"

Two little boys came into the kindergarten
class the first day of school.
One was black, the other white.
They sat next to each other.

The teacher asked the proverbial question,
"What is your name."

"John Appleton," one boy said.
"Barry Appleton," the other said.

Teacher, "Are you related to each other?"
John, "Yes, we are brothers."
Barry, "One of us is adopted."
John, "But we don't know which one!"

_______SCRIPTURE___________

John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received Him, to them
gave He power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on His Name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the
will of man, but of God.
KJV

_______THOUGHT____________

Jesus spoke those words in the Roman
world of His day.

When a person adopted another, in the
Roman world, it was a legal action which
could NOT be changed.

Only TWO things are required to be
adopted into Jesus' family.
1) RECEIVE - meaning to take, to hold.
2) BELIEVE - meaning to commit complete
trust.

God loves people so much, that if a person
will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, and
commit complete trust to Him, that person
can be ADOPTED into God's family!

No matter WHAT the person has been or
done, Christ paid His own blood for us
to be REDEEMED and receive the adoption
of sons!! (Gal. 4:5)

When one receives and believes Jesus,
then that person is "born again."
The Holy Spirit of God moves into the life
of the person by an IMMUTABLE decision
of God! (Eph. 1:13)

THINK of THIS: If you have been adopted
into God's family, you live in the SAME
HOUSEHOLD with JESUS!!

Ain't God GOOD?!!

Love ya!
