THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
At 9:15pm, a noise was heard in the boys bedroom upstairs.
Mom yelled over the tv from downstairs,
“YOU BOYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ASLEEP! DON’T MAKE ME COME UP THERE!!”
Dad said, “Honey, you should keep your kewl with the kids.”
Mom: “Ok, so I’m a cook, housecleaner, taxi driver, scheduler, bill-payer, nurse, and now ...
I’m a PSYCHIATRIST?”
2 Cor 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:
we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
We all assume many roles in life.
But, for the Christian, the most important role is being an “ambassador!”
The word ambassador in the text above is derived from the Greek presbeuo.
By implication, the word means one who is a representative.
Figuratively, the word implies one who is a preacher.
Christians are agents on mission from the Living God!
Our position requires both representation of Christ, and speaking for Christ.
As ambassadors for Christ, Christians have unique purposes.
We are to carry the message of the Gospel to the lost.
We are to carry the encouragement and education of the Bible to the saved.
And, we are always to represent Christ in character.
How are you doing as an “ambassador for Christ?”
Remember: performance sometimes drowns out the most impressive of titles.
