Some anticipation actually ends in disappointment!

Walking up to a department store’s fabric counter, a pretty girl asked,
“I want to buy this material for a new dress. How much does it cost?”

“Only one kiss per yard,” replied the smirking male clerk.

“That’s fine,” replied the girl. “I’ll take ten yards.”

With expectation and anticipation written all over his face, the clerk
hurriedly measured out and wrapped the cloth, then held it out teasingly,
leaning forward to receive his “payment.”

The girl snapped up the package and pointed to a little old man standing
beside her. “Grandpa will pay the bill,” she smiled.

Prov 10:27-28
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days:
but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness:
but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Light from the Word.

To live in reverence for God results both in eternal life and in
living more wisely on this earth today.
Generally, that results in a longer lifespan.

God knows the trouble wicked people cause on earth;
living without regard to the body and without regard to others.
Those things diminish the lifespan.

What is this “hope of righteousness” that brings “gladness.”
It is eternal life with God!
It is knowing that He has forgiven, and that one day we will live
with Him forever where there is no sickness, no sorrow because
there is no sin there.

OH! How exceedingly happy we can be, knowing that Jesus
has forgiven our sins!
And, how exceedingly happy we WILL be, when He takes us
to His eternal home!
THIS is the “gladness” of the born again Christian!

However, the “expectation of the wicked shall perish.”
Their expectation is that death is the end, and there is no eternity.
Their expectation is that there will be no final judgment.
THAT expectation will “perish” when God calls everyone from
death to face Him!

I pray that you are living in the gladness of His forgiveness;
and, that you are anticipating living with Christ forever!

Love ya!
