THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
In the college dormitory (Yes, I can remember that far back),
I had a roommate that was sorta different.
He would get his books, notepad, pencils and place them across the desk.
Then he pulled up the only chair we had in the room.
He'd prop a pillow on the back, and put a pillow on the seat.
Then he sat down with a coke and
WENT TO SLEEP!
1 Thess 5:5-6
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Christians should be "light" in the world.
We are left here, for a time, with a purpose:
to penetrate the "darkness" of the world.
In order to accomplish that purpose we are to share THE "Light" of the world - Jesus.
All too often, we "sleep" in accomplishing our purpose!
What can we do that will help us "watch and be sober" -- be alert?
Study the Bible - daily.
Pray - daily.
And, be involved with other Christians!
Many times when visiting "members" who weren't attending I hear:
"I'm saved, I just don't go to church - too many hypocrites there."
And, my mind says,
"Well, join the group brother. One more stick of wood won't ruin the fire!"
As we journey in this life, let us "sharpen" one another. (Proverbs 27:17)
Christians, isolated you become drowsy!
Be in company with other Christians and you will be encouraged!
Remember, heaven is before you; hell is behind you.
But the devil is pursuing you!
Do not become drowsy on your journey of purpose!
