THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The pastor was making a point about the imperfection of man.
He said, “Men, there are no perfect women; don’t expect there to be.
Women, there are no perfect men; don’t expect there to be.
Does anyone know a perfect man?”

No one said anything.
But just before the pastor could go on, a man in the back raised his hand.

The pastor asked, “Do you know a perfect man?”

The man said, “Well, no sir. I don’t personally know one. But my wife’s
first husband MUST have been!”

THOUGHT________________________________

One thing is for certain: I am not perfect!
Just ask my wife!

But there is another thing that is certain: God will “forsake not the work of” His own hands!
He IS working IN me.
And, as long as I keep striving, He will keep driving!

Jesus promised that those who surrendered to Him would have the presence of His Holy Spirit.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)

It is by His Holy Spirit that we are “sealed” into God’s presence and power.
“13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” (Eph 1:13-14)

It is by maintaining a personal relationship with Jesus that my soul is revived daily to serve Him.
For His Holy Spirit works in our souls to produce strength in our faith.

Thank God His “mercy endureth forever” toward our souls!
And, ultimately, God Himself will bring us to His glory.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Phil 1:6)

So, keep striving and let God do the driving!

Love ya,
Bruce
