THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sometimes children make real good sense when they write about Bible stories!
A child wrote a summation of the story of Noah and “the flood.”
“One of the important people in the Bible was Noah.
He was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham.
Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it.
He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.”
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city,
and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Most people live today as if tomorrow will most certainly come.
Because of this, we evaluate things to be done; and,
we do those things that are important to us today – leaving others for tomorrow.
But, suppose tomorrow DOESN’T come?
Would we reevaluate our list?
Life is BRIEF and UNCERTAIN!
We never really know if we’ll be here tomorrow!
Far too many people try to take a “rain check” on God’s offer of salvation through Jesus Christ!
But, one day, the “door” to the business of salvation will be slammed SHUT!
When will that day be?
And, Christians, what is MOST important on your “to do” list?
Are you evaluating priorities on the terms of what YOU feel is important, or on the terms of what God SAYS is important?
Are you taking a “rain check” on helping your family member or neighbor find Jesus?
What if THEY are not here tomorrow?
What if YOU are not here tomorrow?
Are you still thinking about a “rain check”?
