THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When our son was only a few months old, I came home from work one day to see him in his high chair eating.
Ann had put the plate of food in front of him, and he had literally scattered food everywhere.
She was sitting at the dining table laughing and playing with him.
What a MESS he'd made!

I said, "Well, I guess we're letting him learn how to eat now."

Ann said, "Yes. He got it everywhere, and all over him. But he got a little IN him too!"

3 John 3-4
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee,
even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

THOUGHT____________________________________

You can look at your food, or play with it;
but until it gets inside, nourishment for growth will not take place.

Truth is a lot like food.
One can read it, hear it, or hold it;
but until it is assimilated inside there is no nourishment for growth.

When we assimilate truth into our hearts, it saturates our soul.
Genuinely applying truth to our lives creates an active energy that soon emerges FROM the person.

In the two verses above, John was saying that Gaius not only "talked the talk," but also "walked the walk."
The truth he had taken IN was EVIDENT in his life.

When we "walk in the truth" there is evidence of integrity, faithfulness, and holiness.
There is evidence in the vocabulary.
There is evidence in the manner in which we treat others.
These things are the natural growth product of truth within!

The Bible is truth without mixture of any error.
It is God's Holy inspired Word, and wholly inspired for our benefit.

Hear it taught and preached.
Read it.
Study it, make notes.
Then determine to live based on the principles you assimilate.

We can bring no greater joy to the friend who led us to Christ than to "walk in truth."
We can bring no greater joy to our Savior than to "walk in His Truth."

Love ya!
