THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
My friend's grandson is in boot camp.
The young man made a brief phone call to him.
He said he was attending church on base every week.
My friend was glad to hear that.
Then the young man said.
"Everyone goes to church here," he added.
"Itís the only place we donít get yelled at!"
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up:
and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on
the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
LIGHT from the WORD.
The word "custom" in our Scripture is derived
from the Greek etho.
It can mean habit, or desire.
I believe it was Jesus' habit and desire to be in church
on the appropriate day!
Our Scripture also says Jesus "stood up for to read."

In this one Scripture, the Bible teaches us that it is important
*to DESIRE to be in church at the appropriate time,
*and, to actually take PART in worshipping our Lord.
Some people only go to church to be spoon-fed.
And, they're pretty picky about what's in the spoon!
Don't just be an attender.
Be a participant!
