Today's devotion:
"The ATTITUDE of DOING"
HI!
In golf, we learn discipline of the body to
attain the correct action.
But the attitude we have each day can
affect the swing thought.
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Prov 16:23
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth,
and addeth learning to his lips.
KJV
James 3:13
Who is a wise man and endued with
knowledge among you? Let him show
out of a good conversation his works
with meekness of wisdom.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________
Knowledge is one thing; wisdom is another.
In golf, knowing to swing properly is one thing;
the ability to act on that knowledge comes
by discipline.
The self-discipline will develop an
ATTITUDE to maintain a proper swing.
Wisdom is action in a right manner.
Therefore wisdom is self-discipline; using
correct teaching.
Proverbs 16:23 (above) tells us that we must
TEACH our mouths to say the right things.
James 3:13 (above) tells us we must SHOW
with our mouths the self-discipline of wisdom.
Too often, when surprised, we speak abruptly
and fail to use self-discipline to speak rightly.
In other words, we must develop an ATTITUDE
to speak ONLY after self-discipline.
A professional golfer taught his daughter to
be sure to maintain an attitude of self-discipline
in her swing.
One day she was playing a practice round.
She approached the ball, took her stance,
and began her swing.
Just then a train sounded its horn loudly.
She kept her focus, made a correct swing
and the ball traveled down a par three
fairway, hit the green and bounced in the
hole!!
How's your tongue?
Does it speak abruptly; or, have you taught
it to speak out of self-discipline?
Be sure you develop and ATTITUDE of
DOING!
Love ya!
