THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Today, I am thankful for all the complaining I hear about our government.

It means that at least we still have SOME form of free speech!

Prov 28:2
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof:
but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

And, here I am utilizing free speech to complain.

It is “transgression” when the “princes” of the land lead the nation in evil!
The word “transgression” is translated from the Hebrew pesha` (peh'-shah).
And it means planned sin in a nation!

When the “princes” of a nation refuse to be transparent about wrong actions
against the people, it is “transgression!”

When the “princes” of the land refuse owners of companies to act on moral
principles, it is “transgression!”

When the “princes” of the land allow national law to overrule the law of morality,
it is “transgression!”

When the “princes” of the land lead the nation in immoral action, it is “transgression!”

It is then that “Folly is set in great dignity, ....” (Ecc. 10:6)

Praise God! He offers a SOLUTION to the evil!
”But by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.”

May the people of God utilize free speech to:
point out the sin, and
point the “princes” toward Jesus!

Let us never forget, the people can trump the planned “transgression” of the leaders!
2 Chron 7:14 says,
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

May we, as Christians, answer the call of God to:
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
14 Let all your things be done with charity.
(1 Cor 16:13-14)

Let us respect the government above us; but
let us call upon the “princes” to act morally intrepid.

Love ya!
