THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A lady was having a discussion with her doctor concerning the delivery of her baby.
This was no ordinary lady; she was a distinctive manager of a large manufacturing concern.

She asked, "What's this I hear about "twilight sleep?""
The doctor said, "Yes, that is an anesthetic used in labor."

She asked, "Well, can management use it also?"

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

The prodigal son had a "gimmie" attitude.
What would become his as a matter of inheritance, he wanted NOW!

His request indicated a calloused heart, unconcerned for the feelings of his father (and brother).

How often do we approach God with this "gimmie" attitude?
How often do we approach our labor in the Lord with this attitude?

Let us be aware that the purpose of our creation is to please the Father!
He is the Almighty, Eternal God!
God is not an "errand boy!"

When we approach God in prayer, we should be more considerate of HIS WILL than our desire!

The prodigal son found that his "gimmie" attitude led him to the PIG PEN!
First, he lost his coat, then he lost his shirt, then -- he came to HIMSELF!
It was only when he went to his father with a repentant heart, willing to become a servant that he was restored to a right relationship.

Lord, please help us to pray!
And please help us to pray "not MY will but THINE be done!"

Love ya,
Bruce
