THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

An elderly lady was coerced into seeing an ear specialist about getting a hearing aid.
After the examination, the doctor told her that she did need a hearing aid.

She asked, "How much will it cost?"
He said, "Well, for the one you need, about $200.00."

She said, "Well, I've been around 85 years, and I don't know anything I should hear that's worth that much!"

Prov 8:1-6
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
(KJV)

THOUGHT____________________________________

We really hear what God is saying when we get out of the WORLD and into the WORD!

In the text above, we see that "wisdom" is calling to people all the time.
Worldliness is also calling all the time.
We will be listening to one or the other.
Which are you listening to?

God's Word is worth hearing!
In God's Word we find the HEART of God, the PERSONALITY of God, and the PURPOSE of God for our lives.

To be sinful, all a person has to do is listen to the world, desire to be like the world, and be willing to participate in the wrong things of the world.

To be like Christ, we should do the same three things, but with a different focus.
Listen to God's Word, Desire to be like God tells us to be, And be willing to participate in the things God teaches.

It actually takes LESS effort to be godly than it does to be worldly!
That's because if we'll listen to God's Word, He will HELP us to apply His Word to our lives.

God's Word is WORTH listening to.
And He gives us a "hearing aid" free of charge!!

John 14:26 says, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

God’s “hearing aid” is His Holy Spirit.
He TEACHES us as we study the Bible.
Then, He REMINDS us when we are out living life!

Wisdom is calling.
Are you LISTENING?

Love ya!
