THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
This sign was seen on the desk of a country inn in England:
"Please introduce yourself to your fellow guests, we are one happy family.
Do not leave valuables in your room."
For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Have you ever thought of yourself as God's "peculiar treasure?"
The Hebrew "cegullah" refers to property that is personal and kept with a sure hand.
Kings had a "peculiar treasure" that they kept hidden.
It was their "safety net" in case they were deposed.
It would be enough to keep them if they had to run away.
This relates to us the specialness of our relationship to God.
God, Who owns the entirety of the universe, has especially chosen His people.
This relates to us the value of our relationship to God.
He has purchased us with His own blood and vowed to us His eternal love.
This relates to us the ownership of our relationship to God.
He OWNS us to be His special people.
He will listen to us when we call upon Him, and He will answer by meeting our every need.
Have you considered that you are God's personal, private and highly prized treasure?
You are put away under the "shelter of His wings" for safekeeping.
And as a peculiar treasure you have a specific purpose.
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
PRAISE HIM TODAY!
