Few are the friends who will chance their
friendship with you by telling the truth --
especially if the truth is difficult.
We are self-deceptive creatures.
We have the ability to justify decisions
until they make sense for us.
But a FAITHFUL friend will tell us the
TRUTH.
"Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart:
so doth the sweetness of a man's friend
by hearty counsel." (Prov 27:9)
THAT is where we find the Lord Jesus,
our TRUE friend!
"Henceforth I call you not servants; for the
servant knoweth not what his lord doeth:
but I have called you friends; for all things
I have heard of my Father I have made
known to you." (John 15:15)
The true measure of a friend is not a
"yes-man;" but one who is FAITHFUL to
tell us what is BEST!
And Jesus "is a friend that STICKETH
closer than a brother!" (Prov. 18:24)
With that in mind, Jesus said, "He that
is not with me is against me; and he
that gathereth not with me scattereth
abroad." (Matt. 12:30)
Jesus is the "Friend" Who gave His LIFE
for us!
HE is the ONE Who tells us the TRUTH!
