THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When the love of Christ fills the heart, mercy reigns over evil!
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good,
to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
The people of Emmanuel AME church in Charleston, SC witnessed a horrible massacre.
Yet they realize that God is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2Pet. 3:9)
And, they acted in a manner which exhibits the astounding mercy and forgiveness of God.
Truly, even during indescribable pain, they have been a shining example of being "ambassadors for Christ!"
As a result; instead of rioting in the streets, there are tears of solace, words of kindness, and hugs of comfort!
Rev. Norvel Goff Sr., pastor of Emmanuel AME Church, Charleston, South Carolina delivered a sermon Sunday from
Ps 46:4-5 says,
"4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early."
When God is truly "in the midst" of His people, His "help" calms their souls and soothes their hurt!
When mercy reigns, through Christ, forgiveness can be offered even in the midst of pain!
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
